Hobart Town was founded at Sullivans Cove in 1804 when the first settlement, established by Lt. John Bowen at Risdon Cove in 1803 was abandoned, so it's a great place to start a tour of the city. There is a range of waterfront restaurants and accommodation to suit every budget, and so you can come down to Sullivans Cove and enjoy the scenery, weather and a lifestyle Hobartians sometimes take for granted. Hobart is a beautiful city, on the Derwent River at the base of Mount Wellington.
