The Crown Inn c.1835

Pontville,

Tasmania

Meet Joe and Sue at Country style friendly, Bushrangers Bistro, The Crown Inn, Pontville, TasmaniaThe Crown Inn was built of local stone in 1835, beside the Jordan River at Pontville. During the mid 1800's when convicts and garrisons of soldiers were the main inhabitants, Pontville was visited more or less frequently by travellers and bandits such as the legendary Martin Cash. In search of victuals, and company, the carousing Cash, would guffaw and drink like a free man for a few hours before his ever watchful eye would see reason to head back to the sanctuary of nearby hills.

Researched or not, it sounds great doesn't it? In any case, Cash would have made a good choice, especially if the host was as good as what you get at "The Pontville Pub" today.

Country style friendly, Bushrangers Bistro serves excellent meals every day while the licensees Joe and Sue (pictured)  will provide a rare standard of personal hospitality that is only possible in an establishment this size. With public bar, inside and outside dining, lounge bar, and no pokies, The Crown Inn, Pontville is a great place to stop, any day or evening.
